Mead & Miso Workshop

Mead & Miso is a workshop devoted to two long term ferments.

Students will have an opportunity to make both products during the class and take them with them to ferment at home.

For Miso making, students will learn about koji and how it works when combined with other ingredients. They will learn how to transform humble ingredients and transform them into umami rich condiments that have been consumed for centuries.

Mead is an ancient wine made from honey and students will put together a bottle to ferment in their own home. Making mead is a wonderful way to capture the essence of what grows around you to create a delicious and nutritious alcoholic beverage.

This class will be held at the United Farmer’s Market commercial kitchen on Sunday April 19th, from 1-4 pm. Class is limited to 10 students and preregistration is preferred.
